pen and ink on paper with collaged letterpress text
10" x 14"
A series of drawings with collaged letterpress text, organized around the urge to collect. The drawings are based on printed images from an 18th century natural history collection of animals both real and imagined. They are paired with a text which weaves together less tangible types of collections: memories, resources, and advice. The perception of authority in all printed collections of knowledge assumes that nature can be contained and assembled, and can transform fictional animals into scientific fact.
